Is there anyway I can get strep throat or mono without catching it from someone?

Group A strep is spread by direct person-to-person contact, but can enter the body through a cut or scrape.

You would have to had contracted it from someone else, but not necessarily through mouth contact (kissing), sex, sharing forks, cups, etc., but rather just by the air.
