Is it possible for your tonsils to start growing down towards the back of your throat?For the past few years my tonsils have been huge and crated. Also for a few years its been bad to where there is no pain, but it seems almost as if my voice is "muffled" and its even starting to affect my speech a little. I've had numerous attacks of strep when i was in my teens but im 21 now and havent had any serious problems with being sick in a few years but thats just it. If im not sick then why do my big tonisls affect my speech. Also on the back of my tongue, when i put my finger back there, I feel a bunch of small bumps all scattered as if i've really done some damage back there. I dont have insurance or else i would have seen a doctor and i really dont want to have to be in debt unless this problem is fatal. I just wanted to see if anyone had the same things happen to them. I smoked for about 6 years, but I quit recently because it would make my voice so much more muffled. Also used to smoke Marijuana but if I even smoke that now a days, i get all panicky and paranoid and it enhances the whole tonsile thing like 100 times so im not gonna mess with that at all. Sorry this is so long, I just wanted to get a detailed description out there so you guys can relate n respond. Like i said, theres hardly ever any pain and when there is, its not really pain, my mouth and throat just kinda feel...."strained" probably because of the tonsils being so big and pushing against and down my throat. Not that there all the way down my throat but almost like there starting to grow.....Any information would be greatly appreciated.
ALSO - please only respond if you or someone you know has had the same symptoms. Ive done research all over the internet and I kno all there is to kno about basic tonsil problems. I need to know if anyone out there has unique problems like me and can give me advice. Thank You

i can not give you much advice on what is happening, all i can do is give you a suggestion as to how you can find out
i feel ya on the healthcare issue. what i recommend you do is visit a pharmacy health clinic, like take care health or minute clinic. ask for a strep test, you know you don't have strep but they dont. a strep test is going to require that they look at your tonsils, mention that they have really been bothering you and causing alot of pain. when they show that your test is negative, ask what may be causing it. i am positve you will get many of your answers that you are seeking.
the pharmacy clinics usually charge $ 50-$ 100 for patients without insurance. i have personally never paid more than $ 75 without insurance.

Its chronic tonsillitis. ur tonsils are in ur thorat, but they are really swollen. That is why your voice quality isnt as good Mine is the smae way but definityl not that swollen )only a little bit). You can go to a clinic and have them check ur tonsils.
