Is it okay to remove tonsil stones at home? If so does it matter what side of the mouth you use?Im really scared of doctors... yet I still visit them... but im scared to try this, and it has to be done.

Of course it's ok to remove tonsil stones at home. You can use a mirror, Q-tip or water pik to dislodge them. This requires precision as some people have gagging issues. It does not matter what side of the mouth you use. What matters is what side of the mouth the tonsil stone is located in. Also you don't need to go to a doctor for this. Tonsil stones are formed when food and other debris collect in our tonsil crypts. People with bigger crypts then to have a higher chance of developing tonsil stones (smelly white balls).
