Is it bad to have red, swollen/inflamed tonsils with tonsil stones for over 2 years?

These are useful and collceted by kong!
Is it bad to have red, swollen/inflamed tonsils with tonsil stones for over 2 years?I thought my tonsils were of a normal size. That was until my friend asked me to check her tonsils for any stones (more later). I was confused because I couldn't SEE her tonsils. I thought she had them removed, but she assured me that she's never had them removed. My tonsils are about the size of the top half of my thumb. (Normal hands I guess? I'm a girl..)
Now about the stones. I started getting them about 2 years ago, but I wasn't sure what they were and so I just let them be.
I'm thinking that was a mistake, because the crypts in my tonsils are huge. I'm not sure if this is true, but my theory is the longer you leave them in, the bigger they get and the bigger the hole and the bigger the hole, more stuff can get in. So it plays off of each other. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but whatever.
Anyways, in my left tonsil, the 'crypt' is so big that I can stick the whole head of a q-tip inside while cleaning it out. In my right, it recently began bothering me, and I've woken up quite a few times with a strange, irritating feeling in my tonsil, like something was stuck on it. In it, in this case. Naturally it was the stones causing the discomfort, and I removed them as soon as I woke up, but later that day, I felt them again.

When I get home, my dad is taking me to get them removed. (Thankfully)

But what I'm asking is information on this. Do I have permanent tonsilitis? I read somewhere that it's tonsilitis if your tonsils are red and swollen, as mine are.

So please inform me, thanks so much in advance.

Yes, it is not wise to have any pathological condition for over 2 years.

Any long-lasting tonsil problem can lead to increased susceptibility to sore throat, which in turn, can affect your heart and overall health.

You are lucky that you haven't had any problems yet.

So, as soon as your Dad takes you to the doctor, get those removed.

Relax, everything will be fine :)
