If I get strep about once a month would getting my tonsils removed help?It's really starting to interfere with my life. I don't know what I can do. Would getting my tonsils removed help? Can I suggest this to my doctor?

No You will still get it. check with your dr-it may not be strep that you get every month it could be a bacterial infection caused by your sinuses. You could be being mistreated. Try different antibiotics provided by your dr.

You might want to have family members tested for strep even if they arent sick. A few years aog my husband kept getting it, I had my kids and I tested. We werent sick, but my daughter came back positive.

No, probably not. Strep is tricky because someone can have it and feel fine, where others can be in a lot of pain. Get the people in your house tested next time you get strep, just to check it out.

you can try taking out your tonsils.I get strep at least 1 a week because I have pandas. I am getting my tonsils out. because even if you are on meds to stop strep sometimes the meds do not work. strep can be in other places than just your throat just so you know.
