I went to the doctor yesterday and they told me I've got acute tonsillitis. I think I've been misdiagnosed?I went in with symptoms of 103 fever that fluctuates, I've been battling it for 5 days now. I've got a bad cough with lots of phlegm. I've had Extreme headaches with Facial Pain, (The right side of my face specifically) extreme pain where I can't sleep or do anything) I first went to the dentist to make sure it wasn't a tooth problem causing the headaches and fever. They said everything was fine. Anyhow. I looked up the symptoms for acute and I don't have a soar throat or difficulty swallowing. On top of that they kind of rushed me through the E.R. and it wasn't until they very end that they decided to check my throat. They prescribed only 2 pills of Azithromycin and 20 pills of Ibuprofen, In the E.R. they gave me a 600mg Ibuprofen and 2 pills of Azithromycin. My fever went down to 100.1 at the time but one day later today, I'm back up to 102.7 Any help would be appreciated. I don't have insurance so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it Maybe I was rushed through ?

My advice would be that if you aren't happy with what the doctor has told you, then seek a second opinion. Perhaps go to another ER altogether so you can see a different doctor.
Looking up medical conditions online is all well and good but then how can you be sure that the site is in fact written by a legitimate doctor? The 'site' can't examine your throat, feel any swellings or ask particular questions that need answering.
The internet is a wealth of information for people wanting to learn more about particular things but it can't replace a doctor's examination.
The medication you were prescribed should be taken at approximately the same time every day and continued until it's all gone. Stopping medications before the end even if you feel fine, isn't a good idea as the symptoms can return.

First off you need to go back to the ER and get treated. Second, doctors don't know what insurance you have or don't have. They really couldn't care less in an ER. They get paid no matter what.
Get back to the ER and tell them what happened and I'm quite sure they'll take proper care of you.
