i have extremely bad tonsillitis, what is the worst outcome of it?i was told i had a viral infection about friday last week, by monday i went back and was said it was tonsillitis now. i have not been able to eat since monday and had the usual symptoms but i also keep shaking and have pains in my legs and feel faint, fevers and sickness- could this be related? if so how?
also- i cannot breathe from my nose as its blocked and keep getting pains in my ears :(

Sounds like you need to go back to the doctor. Fever can cause all those other pains and feeling faint. Drink a lot of water and take tylenol.

your tonsils will have to be taken out - it's a minor procedure, alot of kids/adults have it done.

I'm tellin
You need a tonsillectomy, then you'll be fine.

I used to get recurring tonsillitis. I went to see a throat specialist and asked him if he could just remove them because I was tired of them always getting infected. He agreed to do it.

I was 19 or 20 I think at the time. I spent 1 or 2 nights in the hospital. It's considered a more serious of a procedure for adults than for kids.

They gave me liquid perks for the pain and you WILL be eating a lot of ice cream, as swallowing is quite unpleasant for the first week afterwards.

I am glad I had them removed. I barely ever get sore throats or strep any more.
Hope it works out for you.
