How to check that you really have a severe Tonsillitis?Every month just starting last December 2007, my son has a white line appear in his tonsil. On the next day he got a fever in which the white line turning into a white dot. He is taking antibiotics every month. Is this a worst scenario of having a tonsillitis? When can you say it is a severe tonsillitis? I got the opinion of 3 doctors. His pedia said nothing to worry about it unless he has a high fever where in he will prescribe antibiotics. It is just a normal to have it when swallowing foods and does not intake a lot of water. Another doctor prescribe him with antibiotics and the ENT doctor wants to perform a surgery and to get his tonsil because it is recurring for almost 6 times.

Sounds exactly like what was going on with me when I was 11. Same "white dots" symptoms and repeated infections. Ultimately, my tonsils and adnoids, both were removed. O by the way...if your child snores, you'll maybe be alarmed after this surgery as that will stop. However, as I grew, I began to snore once again!!! But definitely get several different opinions and if you have the insurance, it's a once-and-for-all fix. Good luck.
