How can I get rid of Tonsillitis?I've had it for about 4-5 days now and it still won't go away. I've gone to the doctor's and they weren't much help, they just said get plenty of rest and lots of fluids. Anything else someone can think of?

your doctor should put you on an antinflammatory because it is am inflammation... avoid anything too sweet or acidic like soda's and candy. you can always try gargling that might help with any discomfort or taking an antinflammatory drug like advil or aspirin

your doctor was correct -lotsa fluids, treat the symptoms, and rest. it is a viral illness causing inflammation of the tonsils and can last 3-21 days.

You should have been given some antibiotics. If he did not give these to you, you must not have tonsillitis or strep. Gargle with hot salt water, and use Cloraseptic Throat spray..
