do you ever get food stuck in your tonsils?becuase i do. my friend says she gets food stuck there too. and i'm wondering if it's normal or not? and is it normal for one of your tonsils to be bigger than the other? becuase my left tonsil is much bigger than my right tonsil.
well when i was little, i used to have HUGE tonsils. i remember my doctor told me that they use to touch... that's how big they were. but since then, they've shrunk. and um, the bigger one is kinda red. and recently, it's been hurting. but then again, i have a cold and have been coughing. but i once got a fish bone stuck in my tonsil and i tried sucking on a lime and gurgling salt water but nothing helped. and so i stuck my hand ((clean hands)) in and took it out.

No its absolutly not normal you really need to get checked with a docter. You might need to get them removed. Same thing was going on with my little brother and it turns out he needs to get them removed.

Yes, food gets stuck in the tonsils, and sometimes that causes those smelly white "thingies".

If you frequently have had tonsilitis, pits can form in your tonsils, and food can get trapped in them. The best way to get them out is to gargle with some salt water.

if your tonsils are big or one is bigger than the other and if food gets caught in them then they are infected but unless they are causing you pain then theres nothing to worry about. Your tonsils are the first point for infection coming into your body sop they catch everything, hence the swelling and the big holes in em that catch food and contain pus. Have them checked out anyway.

even though it's gross it is very common. however i'm wondering about the one tonsil bigger than the other thing. is it larger because its red and inflamed (usually happens when you get a sore throught) or is it always like that?

The little white "thingies" that are being referred to are called tonsilloliths. They are caused by trapped food particles and bacteria and can indeed smell very bad.But other than stinking, they are not harmful. As far as the size of your tonsils, mine change frequently and oddly it has sometimes been when they are on the small side when I've been the most sick (frequent tonsilitis, strep throat, sore throat, etc.)
However ,I wouldn't rush and have them removed ,because they are there for a purpose.
