CASE STUDY HELP: Can a patient's history of recurrent tonsillitis be a predisposing/non-modifiable factor?

Other people asked questions on various topics, and are still
waiting for answer. Would be great if you can take a sec and
answer them
CASE STUDY HELP: Can a patient's history of recurrent tonsillitis be a predisposing/non-modifiable factor?I'm working on the pathophysiology of the recurrent tonsillitis of my patient. Her history of having had persistent tonsillitis during childhood and multiple cases in the past month prior to admission is the only thing I can really consider as a predisposing/non-modifiable factor. First question is, is it a "valid" predisposing/non-modifiable factor in her case? If not, what could be other possible or common factors of recurrent tonsillitis? I only have precipitating/modifiable factors such as the various conditions working as a call center agent... can I just have precipitating/modifiable factors in my pathophysiology?

Thank you very much in advance.

I'm not sure that persistent tonsillitis is non-modifiable. The way I understand it, non-modifiable factors are totally unavoidable, like age, sex, and race, genotype etc. I could argue that it's possible to prevent her tonsillitis.

I assume she's hospitalized for the recurrent tonsillitis? Predisposing factors would be the things she does or experiences, that are likely to result in tonsillitis. Working in a call center could be one, especially if there are lots of other people there, and many people use the same desk, phone and/or headset without sanitizing it. Just a few ideas there.

You'd also be looking for other things that would cause her to be at risk for tonsillitis. The history of many infections - could that be one? What about other things she does - you might have to talk to her.

I don't start creating care plans until next week, so I'm kind of guessing here, but hope it helps a little.
