Best painkillers for inflamed tonsils, paracetamol ibuprofen or both?I have had inflamed tonsils for a couple or days now, I went to see my doctor who has prescribed antibiotics but I am in so much pain I can't sleep. Would really just like to know what I should be taking.

The antibiotics will help the inflamation but it wouldn't hurt to add a tylenol until they kick in. Try just sucking on ice chips,,,it will help

Ibuprofen contains an anti-ilamatory so will ease the pain in your throat quiet well.
400mg x 4hrly.
Take 2 (1,000mg) paracetamol evry 4 hours. For extra pain relief.
The anti-biotics will take 48 to start to kick in. Till then take the ibuprofen and paracetamol. And suck ice chips as well.
