Sore throat, swollen tonsils,red bumps on back of tongue. What is it?Last month about the same time I had a sore throat. i went to the doctors and he said it was bacterial and put me on some meds. just in the last couple days my throat has become sore and tonsils are swollen, also i have red bumps on the back of my throat.

I'm not a doctor but it sounds as if you have Strep Throat.
Check this link out and again see the doctor, this may get worse.

Well, I don't have my tonsils; i got them taken out when i was 6..however, it may be strep throat. I got that all the time when i was little. Strep throat is VERY contagious, so you should get to a doctor right away! They just swab the back of your throat and then test it. You will get your results within a few days. Sounds like it may be strep. Need to go back to doc. Did he do a culture or put you on a broad spectrum antibiotic? He should do a culture to determine which antibiotic the bug is sensitive to. In the meantime, you can gargle with salt water, about 1/4 tsp to half glass of water. This is a miracle. You can do it several times a day. Good luck!!
