Can you still have strep throat without a fever?

Hi,I did the following:
Can you still have strep throat without a fever?I have an extremely painful sore throat, enlarged glands, and inflammed red tonsils that my uvula stick to. I know that fever is like the major indicator of strep throat as well as any other throat related illnesses. Can I still be sick without a fever? I've had difficulty swallowing all week.

Even if it isn't strep it can be a secondary infection....that means that you probably won't get better without an antibiotic. When the tonsils get that bad it needs to be seen. sometimes strep can be present without a fever. If you had a headache it would be the better indicator of strep. Good luck.

You need to see a doctor. Immediate care center or something like that if you can't get into your doctor today. They can tell you in just a few minutes after doing a throat culture if you have strep or not. If you do, you need to be on antibiotics, because you are contagious!!!

Good luck!

I was diagnosed today with Strep throat and I didn't have the high fever the doctor was looking for. See a health care provider asap.
