yes, but you shouldn't get it twice

You are actually more likely to catch mononucleosis, since they discovered a few years ago that the tonsils assist the immune system.

Mono is an infection. Tonsils have nothing to do with it. The only infection you won't get with your tonsils out is tonsillitis: an infection of the tonsils. So, Yes, you can get mono even you had your tonsils removed. See your doctor.

Yes, mononucleosis has nothing to do with your tonsils. It's caused by a virus. It's not as easily transmittable as a cold, but it's still contagious. You'll need to go get tested (though, as you've no doubt learned, there's not really much they can do for you if you've got it, except that they'd want to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't develop any complications). It's fairly uncommon in such young children -- I hope she gets better soon!

Yes. Mono has to do with the spleen, NOT the tonsils.

I would say yes due to the fact that my son had his tonsils removed and he gets strep throat.

The answer is that yes, you can get mono. Having yor tonsils removes does not give you any immunity...... In fact it could increase your chance of getting mono because the tonsils are part of our body's defense system. You'd better go get yourself checked NOW since you have one of the mono symptoms. The link below has plenty of good info on momo.

Mono has nothing to do with the tonsils it mainly causes some swelling of the liver. so yes you can definelty get it.

Yes, you can still get mono. When you have mono, your tonsils, liver, spleen, and lymph nodes can all be effected, but they aren't always effected. Usually 2 people in the same household don't get mono at the same time, but then again, 4 yr olds usually don't get mono either.
