Anyone had tried the laser tonsillectomy (tonsil resurfacing) treatment to remove surfaces of tonsils?I was told by my doctor that my tonsils got crypts which trap food debris, like rice, in them. My cases is not serious though as I don't have inflammations yet. I browsed through the web and laser tonsillectomy is recommended to help removing the crypts & crevices by smoothening the tonsils' surfaces. This can prevent debris from being trapped in the long term. But how good is this treatment? Will it have side-effects & does it hurt? Will the tonsils still function like normal? How long does it take to get full recovery?

Be patient. The crypts in your tonsils are the initial process of the tonsil dissolving away. As we get older, we no longer need our tonsils and the crypts are the initial stages of the tonsil going away. Have patience.
You can take a tongue blade and scrape the crypts and get the white anaerobic bacteria out of them and relieve the foul breath that is associated with them. Some folks take their tooth brushes and clean the crypts as well.
Using Listerine to gargle also works to kill some of the bacteria and make it more tolerable.
